Last year in our KDNINE insights guide we noted the trend for younger more dynamic political leaders all around the world. We asked was it time for a younger more inspirational Irish presidential candidate. And look what we got, seven not complete muppets, but muppets none the less. Yes they have all achieved various levels of political, academic, eurovision experience etc. but none of them are in any way visionary or inspirational. Our research to date would indicate that the Irish populace are not impressed so far, so expect low voter turnout and apathy.
Welcome to everyone who inspired by our recent postcard mailing dropped in to take a look at KDNINE. A case of old media pointing to new media. We are five years in business and delighted to still be around working with great clients in a business we love. As a recent Adage magazine commentator put it there has never been a worse time or a better time to work in advertising. Yes the economy is certainly depressed but the opportunities for genuinely solving brand problems with creative intelligent ideas have never been more manifold. Here’s to 2016…
No not really of course but in posting this blog we have probably increased traffic to our website by about 10000%. It seems really odd to us that in these days of celebrity and social media that anyone would have any faith in the security of computers, hand held devices phones etc. In fact we reckon you ain’t seen nothing yet. Profiling is probably more sinister than hacking. Don’t be surprised when you post a comment on Facebook about nipping out for a smoke that your health insurance goes up. Don’t be surprised if the ads you see in all media seem to be incredibly attuned to yur life-stage and interests. How ever do they know? And if you do plan to shoot pictures of yourself in the buff best to use and old style camera and put it in a safe in a Swiss bank account.
One of our female colleagues was out on the town last Saturday night for dinner, drinks and a dance. She noticed that 70% of the pub was female…80% of the restaurant and 90% of the nightclub. An odd scene which she described as feeling like living in Dublin after all the men were killed in a war. This may be due to emigration, levels of disposable income, the decline of male industries like construction, printing etc. but whatever the reason such a disproportionate gender balance will have profound repercussions for the dating game. Worse than that the only men in uniform are Gardai and Traffic Wardens.
